Make up for Work and Make up for the Office

Make up for Work and Make up for the Office

At the office at the time of writing with makeup as stated in paragraph 2 below.

How do you make up for work, ladies? Do you go for that no make-up muted look or the bold no-nonsense look? Either way, how we present ourselves at work speaks volumes about our personality.

My personal take is that I like the muted look with a bold outfit, leaving the intense colours for evening engagements. I would combine the liquid foundation with earth colours eyeshadow which Slae Cosmetics have perfected for you. Additionally, you can’t go wrong with a little shading, a healthy pink blush and of course some highlighter would give that instant lift to your cheekbones. My absolute favourite for that smooth phenomenal lip colour for my office look, would be the aptly named Phenomattena Lip Crayon in Caramel Dreamer.

How we take care of our looks reflects our self-love too. Not to say that those who do not put on make-up do not love themselves (hey, to each is her own). But to your colleagues, bosses, clients and even for you as a person, a lady who is “well-put together” (ie. you) gives the perception that you are meticulous (in Malaysian lingo, not “cincai”), takes pride in your appearance and by extension, to your work. Wouldn’t you say that this, in itself gives you that bit of advantage compared to others who do not care about their appearance (all other things being equal of course)? I am not being sexist here. This applies to men as well, but of course in different aspects. For a man, one aspect would be his shoes. To tell you a secret, one of the reasons I agreed to go for that first date with my husband many years ago was because of the shoes he wore – always clean and polished. Oops another secret out of the bag from me (oh dear, I should really stop blogging, as in no time I would be a complete open book).

Back to the subject matter. Work does not necessarily mean office work. It can also mean being a housewife whose work is attending to house matters and/or children. Don’t believe me? I let you in a little secret which those who work with children can try out for themselves. I am no psychology major but this much I know – little children gravitate more to the lady who looks nice. Try it for yourself, with and without makeup, and see what happens. Let me know your findings at niksarina@slae.com.my In conclusion, any profession you are in, looking good matters. Period. One way to look good, is ……. that you Make Up For Work. If not, why do big corporates spend so much money on grooming workshops for their staff? In legal lingo borrowed from Latin – Res Ipsa Loquitur, which means – the Facts Speak for Itself. 😊

Oh, before I go, our Phenomattena lip colours come in four delectable shades: Caramel Dreamer, Natural Trendsetter, Berry Optimist and Ambitious Cherry. As this is a lip crayon, there is a technique to unlock the casing, which is – with the casing in your palm, use your thumb and pointer to push up the cap. It is so easy to use; the colours are so pigmented and matte that they will envelop your lips to perfection, whichever shade you choose.

Au revoir,
